SUMMARY:EUDR Meeting May
DESCRIPTION:This online members’ discussion is part of the TDUK Responsible Sourcing Committee’s EUDR working group, aimed at providing members with a platform to discuss, exchange, and share insights on the EUDR, its latest updates, and its implementation.\n\nDate: Thursday 29 May 2025\nTime: 11.00 – 12.30 pm\nLocation: Online\n\nTDUK EUDR working group meeting – monthly recurrence\nStarting on 30th December 2025, the new EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) will replace the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) for wood and wood products being placed on or exported from the EU market. This regulation introduces additional responsibilities for both EU-based companies (importers and exporters) and non-EU suppliers wishing to sell their wood products in the EU.\nThe EUDR covers a wide range of timber products, including sawn timber, wood-based materials, paper, and furniture. For the full text of the regulation and a detailed list of all covered products, please refer to Annex I of the EUDR ( https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=CELEX%3A32023R1115&qid=1687867231461 ).\nAs the EUDR will affect all businesses selling goods to the EU, either directly or indirectly, we strongly recommend that our members verify with their customers if their goods are being placed on the EU market.\nTo support you in preparing for the EUDR, we invite you to join our monthly EUDR Working Group meetings. These sessions will provide regular updates on the regulation, opportunities to share experiences with fellow members, and practical advice on compliance.\nThis platform, organized by the TDUK Responsible Sourcing Sub-Committee, is designed to help our members navigate the upcoming regulatory changes effectively.\nJoin us to stay informed with the latest updates and resources on the EUDR. If you have further questions, please email us here ( mailto: info@timberdevelopment.uk )\n\nAgenda:\n•         Review of key updates in the latest EUDR FAQ and Guidance\n•         Country Benchmarking and its potential implications\n•         Q&A\n•         EUDR support, including the Preferred by Nature Due Diligence Toolkit\nGuest speakers\nDavid Hadley | Director, Regulatory Impact programme, PreferredByNature.\nDavid leads Preferred by Nature’s Regulatory Impact Programme, the goals of which are to ensure positive impacts within the landscape of regulatory and policy compliance. He also supports our Sustainability Advisory division, covering our due diligence services for forest-impact commodities.\nRosie Sibley | Experienced sustainability professional working to develop solutions to increase transparency and create effective sustainable change across corporate and organisational practices.\nRosie provides sustainability advisory services to a global portfolio of clients in the across commodity sectors including timber, rubber and cocoa. This includes delivering risk assessment and mitigation activities, to meet EU regulations, sustainability and certification criteria. She also delivers external capacity building training and benchmarking to different standards focusing on responsible sourcing and mitigating nature and biodiversity risk.\nRosie began her career with a sustainability consultancy, working with a UK food retailer to build a more sustainable supply chain. Rosie has an MSc in Nature, Society and Environmental Governance from the University of Oxford. Rosie joined Preferred by Nature in 2019.\n\nThis event is members only.
