The Broader Market Recognition Coalition (BMRC) is formed of government, private sector, and civil society representatives from tropical countries whose mission is to achieve global recognition of national tropical sustainable forestry systems.

In support of this mission, BMRC will:

Implement a robust institutional framework to endorse, monitor, and promote national sustainable forestry systems that comply with defined principles and criteria for:

• Inclusive multi-stakeholder processes;
• Effective enforcement of laws addressing environmental, social, and economic principles
• Independent forest monitoring;
• Third party auditing of national forestry systems
• Continuous improvement of the national standard and system over time.
