designTimber – Old School House
About this event:
The second designTimber 2025 talk focuses on Old School House – a Grade-II listed home that has been sensitively and skilfully extended with a new timber wing.
Learn how the new gable, fully clad in UK-grown sweet chestnut, was detailed and executed to create an elegant system with a striking contemporary aesthetic that complements the existing architecture.
Architect George Dawes from Bindloss Dawes are joined by structural engineer Joe Garbett from Momentum and timber supplier Tom Compton from English Woodlands Timber to provide insight into the design, engineering and delivery of this project.
