Ashraya

About the project
Set within a protected area of outstanding natural beauty, Ashraya is a precision-built Paragraph 80 home that showcases both structural ambition and material sophistication. Winner of a 2023 RIBA South East Award, the building features a striking interplay between exposed precast concrete and engineered timber elements.
ConstruktCLT was appointed to deliver the building’s impressive roof structure, made from cross-laminated timber and incorporating eight-metre-wide arches along with large-scale mass timber panels. Installed over just fifteen days, the precision and pace of the assembly were made possible through close pre-construction collaboration with the design team and specialist subcontractors.
The timber elements remain exposed throughout the interior, highlighting the material’s warmth and structural clarity while reinforcing the architectural vision. The project exemplifies how CLT can be integrated into high-performance, design-led residential construction with minimal environmental impact.
