The Government has released amendments to Approved Document B: Fire Safety Volumes 1 and 2. The future regulation changes will come into affect on 2 March, 2025.
From this date, the national Reaction to Fire Tests and Classifications under BS 476 will be withdrawn fully from Approved Document B. Only classifications according to BS EN 13501 will be accepted.
Then, from 2 September 2029, the national Fire Resistance Tests and Classifications under BS 476 will be withdrawn fully from Approved Document B. Only Classifications according to BS EN 13501 will be accepted.
