Timber Development UK (TDUK) has announced the appointment of Darren Mayes as its new Sustainability and Supply Chain Compliance Manager following the departure of Xiao Ma.
Darren joins TDUK with a long history in responsible sourcing, having previously worked with NTG, Brooks Bros and 15 years at Havwoods Flooring. He joins TDUK at a time of increased volatility in global supply chains, with increased demand for data from timber companies and the markets they deed into.
TDUK CEO David Hopkins said: “I’d like to welcome Darren to TDUK. His experience will be invaluable in helping us develop our tools and services in assisting and educating members with a full range of supply chain compliance issues from responsible sourcing and chain of custody through to carbon and product performance claims.”
As part of his duties Darren will be chairing the Responsible Sourcing Committee – the future dates of which will be advertised soon and open to all members.
