designTimber – Eton Sports & Aquatics Centre

In the seventh session in our 2024 series of designTimber webinars we learn from the multidisciplinary team behind the Eton Sports & Aquatics Centre.

About this event:

This designTimber webinar features Eton Sports & Aquatics Centre, a high-performance mass-timber facility comprising a 25m pool and four-court sports hall designed by Hopkins Architects.

Soaring, expressed glulam columns and beams comprise the main supporting structure of this finely crafted building, which has been carefully designed for full accessibility and a variety of uses.

Architect Andrew Barnett from Hopkins Architects is joined by structural engineer Barney Jordan from Cundall and timber specialist John Spittle from WIEHAG to provide insight into the design, engineering and construction of this impressive timber project.
