About this event:
The designTimber series continued with Field Station, winner of the Research & Innovation Award in last year’s Wood Awards.
The Field Station woodland pavilion, developed by students from the AA’s Design + Make postgraduate programme in partnership with engineers at Arup, shows how advanced manufacturing technology can be harmonized with natural, irregular material to create scalable architectural solutions.
Project leads Emmanuel Vercruysse and Kate Davies, and graduate students Garrett Nelli & Romain Odin Lepoutre, are joined by engineers Francis Archer and Adam Plavsic from ARUP to discuss the development of this innovative educational project.
