designTimber – Koto House

About this event:

The designTimber 2025 series continued with Koto House – a beautiful modular home built on the Outer Hebridean island of North Uist.

Made from seven prefabricated timber units, this innovative project progresses modular construction by making high-value use of UK-grown timber to create a quality home in a wild and distant location.

Project architect Theo Dales from Koto Design, technical architect Rob Thomas from Hiraeth Architecture and main contractor Kenton Jones from Unnos Systems presented the project, providing insight into its development, design and delivery.
