The Boathouse

designTimber – The Boathouse

Join us for the sixth session in our 2024 series of designTimber webinars, where we learn from the multidisciplinary team behind The Boathouse.

Date: Wednesday 3 July 2024

Time: 13.00 – 14.00 pm

Location: Online

Entirely built from English-grown larch, this meticulously crafted boathouse was the Small Project winner in the 2023 Wood Awards.

Learning from traditional Japanese carpentry techniques, the structure uses no mechanical fixings. The frame was built offsite in a carpentry workshop as a kit of parts that were able to be self-assembled by the client and friends.

This inspiring timber project will be presented by architect Jeremy Ashworth from Ashworth Parkes Architects, specialist timber framer Luke Copley-Wilkins from Carpenter Oak, and contractor Laurie Prentis from Enerphase Construction.

Confirmed speakers:

Jeremy Ashworth – project architect, Ashworth Parkes Architects

Luke Copley-Wilkins – specialist timber framer, Carpenter Oak

Laurie Prentis – contractor, Enerphase Construction
