designTimber – WorkStack

In the third in our new series of designTimber 2025 webinars we learn from the multidisciplinary team behind WorkStack.

About this event:

The designTimber 2025 series continued with WorkStack, winner of the Commercial category and Highly Commended in the Structural category of the 2024 Wood Awards.

Constructed primarily from CLT, WorkStack provides an innovative and low-carbon new model for creating high-density industrial space on compact urban sites. The building’s stacked and staggered form makes the most of the performance, production and construction requirements of CLT to create fourteen workshop units of varying sizes over five floors.

Project architect Steve Wallis from dRMM, structural engineer Adrian Campbell from changebuilding and timber specialist Alex Brock from B&K Structures presented the design and delivery of this unique timber project.

Speakers:

Steve Wallis – associate director, dRMM

Adrian Campbell – founder & director, changebuilding

Alex Brock – pre-construction manager, B&K Structures
