When Space Factory set out to build a cutting-edge new timber prefabrication production plant in Korea, they knew that a seamless integration of hardware and software was essential.

The company is especially known for its modular house designs and is currently investing in automation and new factories to increase productivity, keen to combine great technology with efficient workflows. By combining high-performance CNC machines from WEINMANN, advanced MES programming from granIT, and ArchiFrame’s powerful modelling software, Space Factory created an efficient and precise CNC production system. Together, these three technologies are helping the business drive the future of sustainable timber housing in Korea – and act as an example for the global shift towards prefabricated timber manufacturing.

Modular and panelised construction
Specialising in prefabricated timber homes, Space Factory employs both modular and panelised construction methods to maximise flexibility and efficiency. The launch of the company’s new production factory in Autumn 2024 provided the perfect opportunity to invest in a tailored technical system.
By combining WEINMANN machinery, granIT factory automation, and Archicad + ArchiFrame for CAD modelling, Space Factory created a high-performance solution that enhances efficiency, reduces waste, and ensures precision at every stage.

Seamless integration
Using ArchiFrame’s software enables Space Factory to take architectural models directly from Archicad, ensuring a smooth and streamlined workflow, while WES software combined with high-powered WEINMANN machines ensures a smooth production process.
Specifically, ArchiFrame has played a crucial role in streamlining Space Factory’s design workflow. By enabling precise BIM modelling and direct integration with manufacturing processes, ArchiFrame reduces errors, optimises material usage, and significantly shortens project timelines.
The ability to directly link design models with production equipment ensures a smooth transition from concept to completion, helping Space Factory deliver high-quality projects faster and more cost-effectively.
