Governance

Our committees oversee TDUK’s policy development and provide a conduit for us to communicate with members.

Our structure

Timber Development UK has a mixed governance structure, composed of Boards, and Committees, as well as strong connections with our regional Associations. This structure helps ensure our members have a direct say in both our strategic direction, as well as in what kind of content we are producing.

The TDUK committees

  • GOVERNING BOARD
Composed of a wide range of experienced professionals from across the timber supply chain, this board acts as traditional trustees and sets the strategic direction of the association.
  • ADVISORY COMMITTEES
Formed from the original TDUK and TRADA boards, these seek to ensure that the interests of each groups are maintained with a focus on technical advice and market intelligence.
  • PROFESSIONAL COMMITTEES
Composed of experts according to occupations and subject matter groups, these committees are focused on influencing and producing content for their peers across the industry.
  • PRODUCT COMMITTEES
Composed of the traditional committees of the TDUK, which are the NSD, NHD, and NPPD, these boards are focused on business intelligence and addressing supply related issues.
  • JOINT COMMITTEES
Composed of experts from across the supply chain, these committees work across areas which require a whole of supply chain focus and include Sustainability and Construction.
  • REGIONAL ASSOCIATIONS
Seven longstanding, independent bodies which represent the timber trade in each region and act as a grass roots channel for communication between TDUK and its members.
