If you build with wood, you already belong

If you build with wood, you already belong

Anyone who works with wood should be a member of Timber Development UK. This includes contractors. We are the only membership association which extends right across the supply chain, from supplier to specifier, and all points in between.

Contractors are essential for turning good timber designs, into resilient, well-executed timber buildings.

A good contractor can save clients thousands of pounds by ensuring what happens on site allows for a successful build. They come equipped with knowledge on how to best handle timber – whether keeping timber products dry onsite, and how to install, join, and connect timber components to create beautiful buildings.

As the only membership organization that connects the entire timber supply chain, Timber Development UK supports contractors with access to technical resources, education, and industry networks. Whether you’re a contractor beginning your timber journey or just starting out, joining our community gives you the tools you need to thrive.

So whether it’s your first timber project, a traditional oak-framed house, or a mass timber mega structure, contractors looking to enhance their skills will find a valuable partner in TDUK. We share the same aspirations and are committed to helping you succeed.

By working toward a sustainable future, contractors who use timber in their projects are leading the way in what we believe will become the industry standard. That’s why TDUK is constantly identifying gaps in the industry and taking action to support our members as they shape a better, greener future.

Connect with us today and benefit from our unique service providing timber knowledge, guidance, case studies, peer-to-peer learning, webinars, networking, promotion, and much more. Read on and find the reasons you should not miss out on membership of TDUK.

Nine key reasons a timber designer should join:

  • Species Library: The species library will help you choose the most suitable wood species for your project. This database contains the physical properties and illustrations of 139 commercial species, reproduced from the popular TRADA Red Books and Wood Information Sheets. These are also downloadable as PDFs to carry with you.
  • Product Database: Learn more about the many products which are made using wood and connect with members who sell them.  Search our product database, using the search bar, or you can explore a specific product use or category and learn about the many ways you can use wood in your project design.
