Shining a light on timber’s benefits

In this issue of Supplying Timber we’re bringing you some of the latest new products that TDUK members are bringing to market, as well as our usual round-up of industry news and TDUK updates.

As the economic uncertainty continues, we’re examining what the Construction Products Association’s Summer Forecast means for the timber industry, and revealing which timber sectors are currently bucking the import trends (p20).

We’re also bringing you some great new resources that you can use to help grow your business and navigate these challenging times. Our new Merchant Guide to Selling Timber offers top tips and ideas that merchants can use to upsell valuable timber stocks, and cement their reputations among their customers as the local timber experts (p36). We’re also revealing the answers to some of your most frequently asked questions on C16 and C24 timbers (p32).

Our member profile this month introduces English Woodlands Timber – a Sussex-based company that offers Oak and natural hardwoods to customers across the UK (p45).

Plus, we’re taking an in-depth look at Clear-Faced Douglas Fir Plywood (p38) and American Red Oak (p28) – both popular timber species that are enjoying increased attention from builders, joiners and carpenters right now. We hope you enjoy everything this latest issue has to offer, and if you’d like to get involved in our next edition, please contact  jennie@timberdevelopment.uk
