About the project

Granted planning approval under the “Paragraph 79” special criteria this new home in open countryside has been designed to a contemporary design following in depth research of local building forms, construction methods and landscape characteristics. The project will makes use of locally manufactured beech wood glue-laminated timber and will be a first for UK construction. As well as the UK grown beech primary glulam frames, the projects makes use of locally grown sweet chestnut cladding and sawn douglas fir garage structure. Structural timber stud panels provide lateral stability.
