About the project

When Starbucks developed its new Birmingham drive-thru, sustainability and premium quality were the priority.
To support their BREEAM Excellent ambition, the team chose Accoya®—a durable, responsibly sourced modified timber—finished with Teknos coatings. A combination with over 20 years of proven performance.

The Challenge

Starbucks needed cladding that looked premium from day one, performed reliably in the UK climate, and met strict sustainability and certification standards.

The Solution

Accoya was finished in Cotswold Oak using:

1x Teknos preservative
1x Teknos base stain
2x Teknos AQUATOP topcoats

Factory application ensured a controlled finish, less site disruption, and supported the project’s sustainable construction goals.
