Navigate global timber supply chains with better data

We have launched two new data dashboards to bring greater transparency to our global timber supply chain – and add to the exclusive market insights available to our members.

In an era defined by shifting global supply chains and heightened economic volatility, having access to up-to-date data and market intelligence is essential. For the UK timber industry, raw data has long been available, but the ability to transform that data into on-demand insight (beyond our monthly reports) has been a challenge. We are proud to announce a significant addition to our digital toolkit for members, with the launch of two new dashboards to the suite of market data available to our members to access.

By holding ‘ctrl’ when selecting various filters on the right, users are able to look at multiple product categories at once. In this case LVL, CLT, and Glulam from 2022-2025.

Dive deeper into timber import data with new dashboards

The first of these new resources, our Country Imports Profiles, offers a deep dive into UK timber imports from 2022 through 2025 by product group, volume, value and year. Users of the dashboard can explore across the role of different countries in UK timber supply chains, areas of growth, and broader trends reshaping our industry.

Significantly, it allows users to explore the engineered timber sector in more detail than ever before. Whether tracking the rise of Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) and Glue Laminated Lumber (Glulam), or monitoring the specific movements of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) and I-Beams, members can now pinpoint where these high-value products are originating and how their market share is evolving.

Complementing this granular view is our second new dashboard – Timber Import Volumes – which focuses on the broader landscape of volume and scale. By consolidating product data from 2019 to 2025, this resource shows the true relationship between different product groups. It allows for a direct comparison of traditional mainstays like Softwood, Hardwoods, and Panel Products, as compared with Engineered Timbers, giving members the context needed to identify how the UK’s timber consumption is changing over time.

Our market tools: connecting supply, demand, and price

These digital tools do not exist in isolation but function as part of our wider ecosystem designed to help members navigate supply, demand, and price. This suite is anchored by our continued partnership with the Construction Products Association to provide access to construction forecasts and weekly economic updates, ensuring that members are informed by both the current reality and future expectations.

Our dashboards are also supported by expert commentary and professional analysis, able to help translate a spike in volume or a shift in value into what this actually means for your business. Emerging issues will often be discussed in our Product Committees, and Global Market Conference.

For our current members, this represents a significant advantage when communicating price and navigating supply risks.
