A surge of new members that produce or sell treated wood have joined the Wood Protection Association this year. Harlow Timber Group, Jordeson Timber Group, Halt NFR and SR Timber have all signed up in the last two months.
Employee-owned Harlow Timber Group has almost 100 years’ experience in timber merchanting, engineered timber and graded preservative pretreated construction wood and fencing.
Jordeson Timber has joined after achieving WPA Benchmark QAS product approval verification for its Super Yellow roofing battens, confirming that the battens are correctly treated for Use Class 2 applications and fully compliant with BS5534, the British standard for roof battens.
Belfast-based Halt NFR specialises in factory-applied flame-retardant treated wood and wood-based panels, particularly applications requiring certificated Euroclass B reaction-to-fire classification for wood products such as cladding and structural elements, internal linings, decorative cladding or panels and constructional wood-based panels.
SR Timber believes that a sustainably sourced, correctly graded and pretreated roof batten should be the norm, not the exception. Achieving WPA Benchmark QAS product approval for its SRT GOLD roofing batten provides third-party verification of compliance with the 60-year durability performance for battens specified in BS5534.
There are other new WPA members currently in the pipeline, pending WPA Benchmark certification.
