Summary
Statistics for 2023 improved as the year progressed, relative to 2022, and total import volumes for the full year are likely to be only a little behind 2022.
During the Spring, import volumes were on track to be the lowest since 2013, but the second half of 2023 allayed any fear of this.
This better second-half performance (relative to 2022) has been realised through higher softwood, hardwood plywood, OSB and MDF imports.
