Summary

Timber construction must be adapted for maximum resilience in areas where flooding is likely.

The climate crisis increases the likelihood of flooding due to mild, wet winters, hotter and drier summers, and rising sea levels.

While flood avoidance at site level is always the preferred solution, increased demand for housing with limited space for building entails construction on sites with some risk of flooding.
