In 2017 TTF & WPA collaborated on a survey to identify the strategic priorities needed in order to grow demand for preservative treated timber. The scope and scale of this survey represented the most significant piece of research conducted in this sector for many years.

Case studies

The new visitor centre replaces facilities – community room, shop, restaurant and exhibition areas – formerly housed in buildings which have now been redeveloped to provide a cycle centre; the centre also aims to improve and develop the forest as a regional centre of excellence for sustainable economic activity.

For 17 magical days in July 2014, a demountable timber theatre occupied Guildhall Square, a public open space in the heart of Southampton’s cultural quarter, hosting plays as part of Southampton’s arts festival ‘Art at the Heart’.
