Eurocode 5 requires that any reasonably anticipated actions on a timber member, component or structure should not cause vibrations that affect the function of the structure or cause unacceptable discomfort to occupants.

Eurocode 5’s limit state design method incorporates a vibration assessment method under the Serviceability Limit State design.
