Rettenmeier Holding AG, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of solid wood products, has officially launched Rettenmeier UK Ltd to better serve the British construction and industrial sectors.
Headquartered in Birmingham, the new subsidiary marks a strategic shift from international exporting to a localised, hands-on presence. This expansion is designed to improve the quality of its services, logistics performance and supply reliability for its UK customers.
The move centres on a new warehouse facility in Warrington which will significantly reduce delivery times and improve stock reliability. By moving logistics and customer service operations closer to the point of sale, Rettenmeier aims to provide a more responsive service for timber merchants and retailers, including its long-term partner, B&Q.
This expansion follows massive investments in the Group’s production capacity, acquiring Europe’s largest sawmill in Plößberg, Germany and developing its new site in Inčukalns, Latvia. These investments have significantly broadened their product portfolio, especially in product categories with a strong demand in the UK.
Dr. Stephan Lang, CEO of Rettenmeier Holding AG, notes that the UK remains a “key growth market” with a high appetite for sustainable solutions.

The formation of Rettenmeier UK Ltd. is part of the group’s long-term internationalisation strategy.
