wood cityIt feels as if ‘largest timber project ever’ stories are becoming increasingly common. But this one is particularly ambitious: it’s “the world’s largest known construction project in wood”.

Developers Atrium Ljungberg have announced that work will start on Stockholm Wood City in 2025 – a huge timber project spanning some 250,000 square metres.

“From tenants, there is a strong demand for innovative, sustainable solutions,” states Annica Ånäs, Atrium Ljungberg’s CEO. The first buildings are expected to be completed in 2027 and will eventually provide an extra 2000 homes and 7000 office spaces in Sickla, in the south of Stockholm.
