A number of leading timber industry businesses – and TDUK members – won awards at the prestigious Builders’ Merchants Awards event in London on Friday 28 November, 2025.
Held at the Westminster Bridge Park Plaza Hotel in London, the event, organised by Builders’ Merchants News magazine, is the highlight of the merchant industry calendar, bringing together more than 750 key business leaders from both the merchant and building materials sectors to celebrate excellence, hard work and dedication to the industry.
This year’s winners included a number of timber businesses, including:
- The Equality, Diversity & Belonging in Merchanting Award: Howarth Timber & Building Supplies
- Health & Safety Initiative: SIG Roofing’s Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign
- Supplier of the Year: The Pallet LOOP
- Online & Digital Strategy of the Year: Howarth Timber & Building Supplies
- Timber Merchant of the Year: C&W Berry.
The Awards winners are chosen by a panel of 16 judges from right across the sector, with many of them heads of leading trade associations, industry organisations and buying groups.
Timber Development UK’s CEO, Dave Hopkins, was honoured to once again be one of the Judges, saying: “Timber and builders’ merchants sit at the very heart of the construction industry. They decide which products to stock, and they act as a vital source of information and support for the tradespeople who buy from them. During the Judging process for the Builders’ Merchants Awards it is always incredibly inspiring to see the fantastic examples of merchanting from right across the industry, and I am delighted to be able to play a part in shining a spotlight on the people and initiatives involved.”
Congratulations from TDUK to all the winners and finalists of this year’s Builders’ Merchants Awards.
