Timber takes centre stage at Footprint+

Earlier this month the Timber Development UK (TDUK) team were in sunny Brighton for the Footprint+ conference and exhibition to manage the Timber Stage.

Over three days the TDUK Timber Stage hosted fourteen talks and panel discussions, featuring forty-eight leading voices in sustainable timber design and construction.

With packed sessions from morning to evening, and a busy stand, the energy and engagement was notable. Dynamic conversations between experts across the industry moved from challenges to timber construction to solutions and strategies for implementation.

Representatives from local authorities, designers, forestry researchers, developers, manufacturers and many more all came together to share knowledge and ideas about where we need to get to and how we will get there.

Amongst the incredible timber initiatives and projects being presented, Timber Development UK were delighted to launch our new book ‘Timber Typologies’ which demystifies the different forms of structural timber construction. Visitors to our stand throughout the fair were able to ask technical questions and peruse our case studies and Designing Timber magazine.

It was great to connect with new and established members, to reflect on how things have moved on since last year’s Footprint+, and be inspired by the ambitious work of so many to decarbonize the built environment.

Congratulations to the Footprint+ team, and many thanks to all our speakers. See below some pictures highlighting the event. Keep an eye out in our next magazines for more insights from the speakers.
