Turkey has implemented a total ban on Oak product imports. The ban, which was introduced on 4 August, applies globally to all Oak product suppliers, and includes products such as red and white Oak and kiln-dried (KD) Oak timber. This means exporters are now unable to ship Oak products to Turkey, until more guidance is released and unless trade resumes.
There is little additional information currently available on why this ban has been implemented, but Timber Development UK will update its members with more details when they become available.
