Upskill your staff on the use and benefits of timber in building

Are you a TDUK member who wants to upskill your staff? Would you like to help build a cross-sector network of architects, engineers and project managers all working together to promote the use of timber in construction? If so, then the Timber Technology Engineering Design (TED1) course could be for you.

Timber TED 1 uses a blend of online and in-person teaching (a 12-week course including three short, three-day residentials in Hereford), combined with NMITE’s unique learn-by-doing model of learning and work-based challenges to educate people in the use of timber in construction, and to effect a transformational change in participants that extends beyond the course to industry application.

The Timber TED courses are delivered by NMITE in partnership with Edinburgh Napier University and Timber Development UK.

The next Timber TED course begins on 18 September 2023, and places are still available.

TDUK members can get a 50% discount on the cost of attending the next Timber TED 1 course, if they sign up before 30 August. There are a limited number of places still available, so get in touch now if you wish to sign up.

Designed in response to the industry derived Timber Technology, Engineering and Design (TED) Competency framework requirements, these short courses will upskill and reskill the built environment professionals of the future to specifically address the climate emergency.

Split into three modules, Timber TED covers design, materials and sustainability.

This is the third time TED1 has run, with former participants not only speak highly of the course, but having gone on to bring timber projects to fruition through the contacts they have made and the knowledge gained.

If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, contact TDUK’s Head of Education and Engagement, Tabitha Binding, on to discuss the course and your requirements.

You can learn more about the course online at NMITE’s website.
