A new JJI Wall Stud has been launched by the Timber Systems division of James Jones & Sons.
Made in the UK at its engineered timber manufacturing plant in Forres, the JJI Wall Stud offers a low-carbon solution to the UK and European construction market. It has been developed to complement changes in Part L legislation that requires more efficient insulation in timber frame and modular homes.
The JJI Wall Stud comes in depths of 195mm, 245mm and 300mm, with a 47mm wide softwood flange. The softwood flange and OSB web gives great structural strength and stability.
Manufactured in easy-to-handle, easy-to-cut lengths of 4.8m, 5.4m and 6m, the JJI Wall Stud offers flexibility to the off-site manufacturing process.
The JJI Wall Stud has been designed to be stronger, straighter and more stable than some other wall stud materials, offering longer lengths and a choice of depths, according to the company, with less heat loss at thermal bridging.
Angus Macfarlane, General Manager of James Jones & Sons’ Timber Systems division, said: “More than ever there is a need for highly insulated, healthy homes and the JJI Wall Stud, in combination with different types of insulation, helps achieve this.
“We will manufacture the JJI Wall Stud in easy to handle and easy to cut lengths to offer flexibility to the off-site manufacturing process. The JJI Wall Stud is available via our existing distribution network throughout the UK and Europe.”
