Willie Clason joins WPA board

Independent wood preservation consultant Willie Clason has been appointed to the board of The Wood Protection Association (WPA).

Willie Clason has built an impressive career in the field of preservative treated wood production, holding senior management roles at leading organisations such as James Jones, Metsa Group, and Burt Boulton & Haywood, where he served as Managing Director for eight years.

In 2015 he founded Bridewell Consultancy, offering independent advice, technical and management services to wood preservation businesses across Europe. Willie is an active member of both the WPA and the Brussels-based European Wood Protection Association (EWPA, formerly WEI). WPA members will benefit from his extensive experience in the preservative treatment of wood products used in power and telecommunications infrastructure.

WPA Chairman Steve Young said: “We are delighted to welcome Willie to the WPA board. His experience, industry knowledge and connections will help drive our strategy for promoting preservative treated wood for use in high performance infrastructure applications.”
