TDUK Training & Apprenticeship Award 2023

The TDUK Training & Apprenticeship award goes to the member company who has shown outstanding commitment and success in training or apprenticeships.

James Jones & Sons was recognised for its innovative Trainee Management Programme, which has been developed for graduates and school leavers to grow their careers within the company. Those who join the programme are assigned a mentor to broaden the support and learning opportunities available to them and to help stretch, challenge and support them through the early part of their career journey.

The programme, which takes place over three years, provides hands-on experience to understand and learn the essential operations of the business and develop the skills and tools required to become a manager.

James Jones & Sons has produced a series of career case studies involving young people across a diverse range of roles, including despatch and haulage, mill management, harvesting, engineering, and more. This work benefits the whole industry by showcasing the incredible career opportunities available at James Jones & Sons, as well as in the forestry and timber industry more generally.
