About the project

The Shoemakers Museum in Steet, Somerset is due to open its doors in 2025 after works are completed to redevelop the Grade II Listed site.

Architect Purcell have designed the redevelopment utilising over 8 different CLT wall structures through the two-story gallery space. The new build between the historic Grange manor house and the Barn will create a dynamic and engaging two-storey gallery space to house the heritage collections once completed.

Main contractor Rigg Construction have been tasked with carrying out the build which has applied Rothoblaas’ Adhesive membranes including; Vapour Adhesive 260, Traspir Adhesive 260 and Barrier Alu Net Adhesive 300 throughout the build as part of the air tightness and watertightness strategy.
