BPC Building Products has announced the appointment of Scott McAndrew as Technical Director. Joining the company’s Senior Leadership Team, Scott will lead the newly established BPC Innovation Centre, setting its strategic direction and driving the delivery of the company’s vision for product development and technical excellence.
In his new role, Scott will be responsible for all product innovation and testing, ensuring BPC continues to deliver solutions that meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. He will also oversee technical support for BPC’s growing customer base, which includes timber engineering manufacturers, builders’ merchants and trade professionals.
Scott brings more than 35 years of experience in timber engineering from trusses, engineered floors, timber frame and engineered connections. His experience also includes structural, fire and acoustic testing of products and is recognised as one of the UK experts in engineered connectors. Scott also holds an MSc in Timber Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University, further strengthening his technical credentials and expertise in structural design and product development.
Scott has served on the board and technical committee of the Trussed Rafter Association, sits on British standards committees for timber design and timber testing, and is an active member of European standards working groups contributing to technical standards and best practices across the UK timber engineering sector.
