Timber Development UK (TDUK) and the North West Timber Trade Association (NWTTA) are inviting timber businesses to attend a practical seminar in Liverpool designed to help the industry prepare for the introduction of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
Taking place on Tuesday 13 October at the Crowne Plaza Liverpool City Centre, the event will be led by TDUK Supply Chain Compliance Manager Darren Mayes, who will provide a straightforward guide to the new legislation and its implications for businesses across the timber supply chain.
The seminar will cover the key requirements of the EUDR, who the regulation applies to, and the responsibilities of different organisations within the supply chain. Delegates will also hear about the practical steps businesses can take to prepare, including resource requirements, responding to customer enquiries, managing costs and implementing compliant processes.
The session will include updates on UK regulatory developments, forthcoming TDUK support and events, third-party EUDR services, and guidance on the movement of timber products to and from Northern Ireland.
Designed to be interactive, the event will feature audience participation, quizzes and practical exercises to help attendees gain a clear understanding of the new requirements.
Registration opens at 9.30am, with the seminar concluding after a networking buffet lunch at 12.30pm.
