wood awards material matters

Wood Awards x Material Matters

The Wood Awards is partnering with Material Matters for a second year to display the shortlisted projects at London Design Festival.

The Wood Awards will partner with Material Matters for the second year running to showcase the Wood Awards shortlisted buildings and furniture. The exhibition will feature work from some of the most interesting contemporary architects, designers and makers working with wood in the UK.

Taking place once again at the iconic Bargehouse at Oxo Tower Wharf on London’s Southbank, the Material Matters fair celebrates the importance of materials and their abilities to shape our lived experience. Alongside the installations and exhibits, an extensive talks programme will investigate how the design industry can address issues around the circular economy and why material intelligence is so important to us all.

Established in 1971, the Wood Awards recognize, encourage, and promote outstanding wood design, craftsmanship and construction. The unveiling of the shortlisted projects at Material Matters will provide a window into some of the many ways timber can enrich our lives and contribute to positive change in the built environment.

The Wood Awards shortlist exhibition will be on display from 20-23 September.

More information on the event and the link to register will follow later in the year.
