Woodside Place

About the project
“Winner of the 2024 Dundee Institute of Architects ‘best extension of the year’ award
Jones Robbins Tobin worked closely with Tiny Temple to come up with a cladding design that would tie in well with the proportions extension while being low maintenance.
Tiny Temple came up with a 92mm Thermal Pine Rainscreen, factory sanded and coated in SIOO:X. The SIOO:X coating factory applied by Tiny Temple offers the client a virtually maintenance free, consistently weathered finish.
This cladding was offered in set lengths that closely match the elevation height to keep wastage to a minimum.
This meticulously crafted extension transforms a single-storey coastal home in Elie, seamlessly blending contemporary design with ecological sensitivity. The project maximises space and natural light, creating a warm, sustainable living environment that feels both expansive and intimate. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, with craftsmanship and precision evident throughout. At the heart of its success is a strong client-architect collaboration, resulting in a home that is both beautifully refined and deeply personal.
