Exposed timber members during construction – when active protection measures are not yet functional – presents a fire risk on building sites.
Figures from the UK’s Home Office indicate around 300 fires occur on construction sites every year. While there are risks for all forms of construction, the presence of significant amounts of unprotected timber means additional risk assessment and fire mitigation measures should be taken.
